Eight months ago, I gave my service five stars because I thought they really took care of me and saved me some money. Fast forward. I originally told them what the problem was which was the alternator almost 100% sure. I took it to several O’Reilly stores when the car was acting up and they all registered as it’s the alternator going bad. Took it to Nissan they said nope it’s this, this, and this and we will do the alternator if you really want to at 600 bucks on top of the $1100 I was already paying for all the stuff they said it actually was. Okay cool, if you are certain it’s not the alternator we won’t do that then. Registering at 14.2. Took it off the lot and two days later the problem is back. So brought it back in. They said nope alternator is fine and no codes are popping up. Okay fine I give up. Continued to have problems but managed for eight months. Then complete crash. Now I bring it back in the replace the battery and the alternator is now over charging the battery. Now they want to listen and charge me 900 dollars bc now the codes are coming back saying so. What the xxxx happened to actual mechanic work and not just saying this is what is wrong or not wrong bc the codes say so. I have zero mechanical experience, but I’m can deduct based off some basics and the problems I was having, like a mechanic weird lol. But no O’relilys was wrong, I was wrong, several others voiced it including my boyfriend, nope all wrong but especially me bc I am a girl right? Swindlers. Oh and then offered to do a trade in. What a joke.

If I can give 10 stars I would!!! I can’t thank the team at Nissan Carson City enough! I had been planning to get another car within the year, but when my current vehicle became too expensive to fix, I had to move sooner. After dealing with three other dealerships in town—and even going to one with my husband and son where we had a very poor experience—I reached out on a Sunday and was immediately contacted by Carlos Escobedo-Ramirez, Client Advisor. Carlos went to work right away on my approval that same day and kept in close touch. By Monday, I received the great news—I was approved! The best part? I did all of this without ever stepping foot into the dealership first, because I refused to drive 40 minutes only to leave empty-handed. That evening, my husband and I went together to pick up the car, and to our surprise, it was the shortest and smoothest dealership visit we’ve ever had. Even though we arrived right at closing time, Carlos, Ron Wells, General Sales Manager, and Tito Paiz, Finance Director, stayed late and patiently worked with us. Despite my challenging credit and limited down payment, they got me into a vehicle with the same loaded features other dealerships were offering—but with a lower payment and down payment. Carlos was especially wonderful to work with—very pleasant, easy to talk to, and he made sure we felt comfortable asking any questions. It may not have been the exact car I had my eye on, but it was definitely the right deal for me. If you’re looking for a dealership that will treat you like a person and not just a number, this is the place to go. I’ll absolutely be back when it’s time for my next car. I recently purchased a new Frontier from Nissan Carson City. Diego was a great salesman! He helped me find the truck with the options that I was looking for. He was knowledgeable and not pushy. The large inventory of Frontiers was nice to pick from. It was also nice to see a follow up from Diego checking in to see if I had any questions after the purchase.
PJ and Alex made a horrible experience 1000% better. I felt heard and like a real person not just a number. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart. You are amazing! 5+ stars for these 2! They are exactly the level of customer service that is lacking in the world. The service department on the other hand was a whole different experience. My rogue had engine problems. They fixed it quickly, with a new engine and other parts. I also paid $1200 for transmission fluid etc. when I picked it up it didn’t seem or sound right. I spoke to service who made me feel dumb and told me it was normal and I had a 3 cylinder car so what did I expect. He told me my writer would call me back. I left a vm for my writer as well and was never called back. Since I was assured the car was fine I went to California 3 hours away to see my family and broke down half way there unable to accelerate. I had expressed this exact concern to service and again dismissed telling me all was fine. I had to have it towed close to 100 miles back. I probably will never know what happened that time but very frusterating after spending $1200 for transmission fluid etc just to have transmission issues 2 days later and completely dismissed. $1200 is a lot of money to lose. 1 star for service! PJ and Alex turned my experience around, I will always send anyone I know to those 2! They know how to treat customers.
Bought my car on January 1st 2025. The young man Diego was fabulous. He was patient and Kind. He answered all my questions and even the dumb ones a few day after. I would buy there again. I drive back and forth to Tahoe daily and my car runs great. Pathfinder all the way.
Subject: Formal Complaint – Nissan Carson City Misconduct and Warranty Mishandling To Whom It May Concern at Nissan Consumer Affairs, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the unacceptable, unprofessional, and deeply troubling treatment my family received from Nissan Carson City following the purchase of a certified pre-owned 2019 vehicle and an extended warranty sold directly through their dealership. We paid thousands of dollars for this warranty, trusting it would provide protection and peace of mind. Instead, we were met with repeated failures, misrepresentation, and outright disrespect. Major Mechanical Failure Just one year into ownership, the vehicle’s transmission failed without warning, leaving my husband stranded on the side of the road. For a certified pre-owned car with low mileage and minimal use, this type of failure is alarming and unacceptable. Warranty Breakdown & Towing Dispute When we contacted the dealership to initiate a warranty claim, we were told repairs could only be performed at Nissan Carson City. Although towing coverage was included in our warranty contract, the warranty provider claimed they could not locate our coverage—forcing us to pay out of pocket to tow the vehicle from another city. Loaner and Rental Car Failures We requested a loaner vehicle to minimize disruption, but this was denied. We then used the warranty’s five-day rental coverage, only for repairs to drag on for months. Three weeks into the rental, we were suddenly told that coverage would only apply if the vehicle came from an Enterprise in Carson City—over an hour from our home. This critical condition was never disclosed at the outset, resulting in substantial out-of-pocket rental costs. Poor Communication & Managerial Neglect Throughout the process, communication from the dealership was minimal and inconsistent. Calls were rarely returned, updates were vague, and we had to chase down basic information. I left a detailed voicemail for Fixed Operations Director Nathan Snell outlining the financial hardship and requesting reconsideration for a loaner. He never returned my call—instead, I was sent back to the same service advisor who had already denied assistance. Damaged Parts, False Promises, and Final Hostility When the warranty claim was finally approved, the replacement transmission arrived damaged, causing more delays. Multiple times, we were told our vehicle was ready, only to drive an hour—on two separate occasions—and be told otherwise. On our final attempt, just minutes from the dealership, we were informed the car would not be released because the warranty company still owed $400. This internal matter between Nissan and the warranty provider resulted in us being punished as paying customers. When I spoke directly with Mr. Snell, he yelled at us, told us to “come get the car and NEVER COME BACK,” and hung up on us. At pickup, we were refused receipts or proof showing our balance was paid and the matter closed. Financial & Emotional Harm We complied with every requirement, paid for the warranty in full, and endured months of delays—resulting in thousands of dollars in rental costs, fuel, travel fees, and unpaid time off work. The dealership’s actions reflect a complete disregard for customer well-being, fairness, and the Nissan brand’s reputation. Request for Investigation I am asking Nissan Consumer Affairs to fully investigate Nissan Carson City’s handling of this matter and take corrective action to ensure no other family experiences the financial, logistical, and emotional harm we have endured. This was not a matter of mere inconvenience—this was a systemic failure and an abuse of customer trust.
